Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB)

• This benefit is for qualified individuals, NOT for businesses.
• This benefit is available to workers who qualify for EI as well as self-employed individuals or small business owners
• CERB benefit is $500 a week for up to 16 weeks from March 15 to October 3, 2020. 

QUALIFICATION

• Applicant must be residing in Canada and at least 15 years old
• Applicant must have at least $5,000 employment, self-employment or maternity benefit (under EI), in 2019 or between April 2019 to March 2020 in order to qualify for this benefit
• Applicant stopped working and has no more than $1,000 employment/self-employment income within the four-week benefit period of your claim

HOW TO APPLY

• Application is available starting April 6, 2020 and through CRA My Account or Service Canada online portal
• We strongly recommend that you register for CRA My Account if you don't already have one.

  • If you were born in the month of January, February or March - on Mondays
  • If you were born in the month of April, May or June - on Tuesdays
  • If you were born in the month of July, August or September - on Wednsdays
  • If you were born in the month of October, November or December - on Thursdays
